چکیده

We have examined the dynamics of noble-gas clusters, heated with high-intensity laser radiation, using pump-probe experiments to temporally resolve the expansion of the clusters. Absorption of the probe radiation is observed to reach a maximum for a particular time delay between pump and probe, dependent on the cluster size. For single-pulse experiments, we find that there is an optimal pulse width to maximize absorption for a given cluster size. Model calculations suggest that these effects are due to resonant heating of the spherical cluster plasma in full support of a hydrodynamic interpretation of cluster interactions. @S1050-2947~99!51005-6#

The Possibility of Selective Adsorption and Sensing of the Noble Gaseous Species by the C20 Fullerene, the Graphene Sheets, and the N4B4 Cluster

There are only a handful reports about the sensor systems having the ability of detecting the existence of the noble gases. Chemical reluctance of these gaseous species causes them to have no chemical interactions like hydrogen bonding with the chemically designed nano-sized sensors. Noble gasses usually have no atomic charges nor do change the total polarity of the molecular sensor systems. Th...

Attosecond resolved charging of ions in a rare-gas cluster.

A scheme to probe dissipative multielectron motion in time is introduced. In this context attosecond probing enables one to obtain information which is lost at later times and cannot be retrieved by conventional methods in the energy domain due to the incoherent nature of the dynamics. As a specific example we will trace the transient charging of ions in a rare-gas cluster during a strong femto...

APPLICATIONS OF PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS IN STABILITY INDEX AND CRITICAL LENGTH IN AVALANCHE DYNAMICS

In this study, Stability analysis of snow slab which is under detonation has developed in the present model. The model has been studied by using the basic concepts of non-detonation model and concepts of underwater explosions with appropriate modifications to the present studies. The studies have also been extended to account the effect of critical length variations at the time of detonation an...

Probing wavepacket dynamics with femtosecond energy- and angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy

Several recent studies have demonstrated how well-suited femtosecond time-resolved photoelectron spectra are for mapping wavepacket dynamics in molecular systems. Theoretical studies of femtosecond photoelectron spectra which incorporate a robust description of the underlying photoionization dynamics should enhance the utility of such spectra as a probe of wavepackets and of the evolution of el...
